Record and Register of Vows and Professions (1819-1842)

This is one of the oldest items held at the Archives of the Society of the Sacred Heart.

This book contains the first record of vows and professions in the United States made by Sisters of the Sacred Heart at their house in Florissant (from 1819-1827) and at Florissant and City House (from 1827-1842).

It also has retrospective notes on the first five Sacred Heart missionaries, L. Mathevon, and of the first Florissant novices to make vows or professions from 1822-1830.
